Faces of Soleil
My name is Holly and I am 42 days old today.
Mom is holding me right now at the pediatric clinic in the back of Soleil.
They just weighed me and I weigh right at four pounds. And I was full term.
Mom does not give me her breast milk because she says her milk is "pa bon". She thinks it caused my three brothers and sisters to die--all before they were three years old.
The clinic gives my mom powdered milk for babies like me. It helps some.
Well, we need to go. Mom and I live right behind the clinic and the sun is hot.
My mom's face is sad. Pray for us.
