Read this sad article.
Today in the medical clinic in southern Haiti, I saw terrible inhumane medical disasters that should never have happened.
Terrible skin abscesses, terrible infected scabies, terribly malnourished babies swollen with edema because they lack protein, and asthma attacks that required emergent care. And the two young asthmatic women had come from long distances across the mountains. I do not see how one of them stayed alive to reach us.
This is all very embarrassing and horrible. Humans should not live like this. Haitians are not really living right now. They are just making it through the day if they are lucky.
